While in Melbourne I visited the chapel street bazaar and found an amazing stash of educational slides from the USA. I bought three sets and have scanned them all since arriving back in Sydney. My favorite is Other Industries of the Southwest (meaning other than agriculture). I find these types of images irresistible, the barren landscapes of industry and surreal impact of the imposed infrastructure. These are just a few of my favorite images from the roll of film.
These were shot on my lomokino during my last visit to Melbourne. I have so far only partially animated the scanned frames. The overlapping exposures however create their own fascinating effect as a still image. I have long been interested in the repetition of a single image, revealing the minute changes caused by time and process.
