A completed drawing to be tucked inside the blue map cover once it is a cover. The contents of the book are taking shape in my mind. Not all the drawings will have a maritime focus but they will be of places and things that recall dutch colonial history. I believe the ladies at my local art shop think I’m quite strange, recently I bought four different pencil sharpeners at the same time, not all sharpeners are made equal and you never know till you try them so I hedged my bets. Drawing may be slowed down over the next few days as I’ve hurt my back and sitting for long periods is uncomfortable.
I have developed a bit of a fascination for childrens parks while I’m here. There’s something about the geometric shapes and brilliant colours against the gloomy background.

You better be careful about what your fascination with children’s playgrounds, you know what happens to those people. Haha
Comment by Leanne December 22, 2009 @ 10:03 amThat drawing is just awesome… the masts of that boat seem so of another time and then contrasted against the sky scrapers… awesome image.

Comment by justaperfectday December 24, 2009 @ 10:36 amHere I can see what you mean by detail with the grey leds. Those little boats in the foregound are wonderful.
Also can you email me at littlemissbobs@hotmail.com as I’ve left your email in my eudora at work (and I’m NOT going back there until into the new year) and I need to ask you something. Ta
Leanne I have the long coat and everything, but then everyone here has long coats.
Jessie, glad you picked up on the contrast. I’m finding a lot of juxtaposition of the old and new here.
Thanks Bobby, I’m loving the nuanced greys here especially on overcast days al the colours seem to harmonize with a layer of fog. Have sent you an email so I may receive the mysterious question.
